The world thinks Zak is just a writer of great supernatural books. Little do they know he is supernatural. When demons destroy his home he also finds his ring is activated. It could only have been activated if the dagger, which has remained hidden for years, had drawn blood. Now he had to find it before something worse than a destroyed home happens.
Georgia has found an old dagger hidden in a wall of a stable on the property she owns. Cut herself on the darned thing. Oh well, nothing a bandaid won't cover. Georgia and her sister own a shop where they sell, well, junk. Old junk and furniture that she refinishes. Sometimes she gets a commission to construct something new. Zak Goodwin has commissioned her to build a bed. She is pretty sure he plans to get her in it, but she has no intention of being another notch on his bedpost, so to speak.
Zak has managed to enter Georgia's dreams, but she has kept him from finding out what he needs to know. She doesn't understand her strange dreams, but she does understand when vampires tell her to steal Zak's ring, or else. She knows that stealing the ring off his finger is impossible, but maybe she can figure something out.
When Zak sees the knot the vampire left on her forehead he demands to know how she got it. She uses the "I ran into a door" excuse, but he isn't buying it. He uses his power to heal her and admits that he is half vampire and half angel.
OK, that is all you get. I think you will enjoy the story if you like paranormal books at all. I am hoping for a sequel.

First Witch

4.5 stars

I loved the first book in this series, First Blade, and this was a great sequel. Georgia was turned by her boyfriend Zak who is a vampire-angel hybrid and her sister had to be turned also. They now live with Zak, so is a famous author, and his vampire warriors.
Georgia is starting to feel a little constricted by her vampire daylight limitations. When her aunt shows up and tells her and her sister that they are also witches from her mother's bloodline, things get a little more interesting. Although Zak insists that vampires and witches don't mix, she sets out to prove him wrong.
Unfortunately, her family has a nemesis in the form of a powerful witch Hunter. He has been awakened early and is after her aunt. Her aunt has come to see if Georgia and Skye can add their magic to her coven and help them destroy the Hunter.
What follows is a story of body possession, magic, and betrayal. Georgia will be taken past the edge of life to destroy the Hunter and save herself and Zak. I can't wait for the next one!

First Blood

This final book in the Awakening series is a good one. We catch up with a pregnant Georgia in the middle of a bad dream, or is it a premonition? Either way, she knows she must be on her guard since women have been disappearing in the area. When one of the witches from her coven disappears, Georgia, Zak, Skye, and the guys are off to hunt demon ass.

Zak is worried, but Georgia is sure she can protect herself. Being pregnant with a powerful baby is not easy, but sometimes it is helpful. Their little jelly bean won’t let its picture be taken at the doctor’s office, but it makes itself known in other ways. A little boost to mommy’s powers is always helpful. There will be a death and a birth, a new friend will be made, and an old friend will return to join in the fight.

I sure hope Jane is going to give us some more stories with the other members of the team. I can’t wait.
